The topic that has been bugging mean for a while is the marshmallow debate. There was a study that happen to little kids. They would put marshmallow in a room of four kids and tell them not to eat it. If the ones that obeyed would be more successful in life and the ones that ate the marshmallow would not be successful. The kids who ate the marshmallow will have bad behavior and horrible grades. The ones who didn't eat the marshmallow will have excellent grades and be well behavior. So i told many of my friends on campus about it and ask them do you agree that the marshmallow debate is accurate or not. I want to see other people view of the debate and see their opinion on it.
So i went on campus and asked a couple of my friends what they think of it. My first friend i ask was Jeff and he said that he dosen't agree at all. He thinks that its to early to predict a kids future based off of a study you did. He thinks that there will be many factors that will determine what a kid will do. I agree with him on it. Just because a kid ate the marshmallow dosent mean in the future they will be disobedient and have poor grades in school. A couple of my others also agree as well. They were pretty shock when i told them it and showed them the video. They feel that they are to young to know whats right from wrong and basically the you will be tempting them by putting the marshmallow in the room. I think that all their answers just shows you that predicting anybodys future will not be accurate and wont work at all. My opinion is the same that you shouldn't do study on kids who are 4 about the future because anything can that change their results.
I kind of knew that my friends answer will be the same because i felt that is pretty obvious that the marshmallow study would not work at all.
